Support for a Strong, Healthy, Confident Transition Home.

Bringing a new kitten home is a joyful experience, but it is also a big transition. With patience and proper care, your kitten will quickly adjust and begin to feel safe in its new home.

First Days at Home

During the first 24-48 hours, allow your kitten time to explore slowly. It is best to start in one quiet room with food, water, a litter box, and a comfortable sleeping area.

Avoid overwhelming the kitten with too many visitors or loud noises at first. Most kittens adjust very quickly once they feel secure.

Feeding

Proper nutrition is extremely important for growing kittens. Cats are obligate carnivores and require diets rich in animal protein.

We recommend high-quality foods made with clean ingredients and without GMO additives, artificial colors, or unnecessary fillers.

Examples of brands we trust include Tiki Cat, Open Farm, and Wellness CORE. Fresh water should always be available.

Feeding Schedule

2-4 months: 3-4 meals per day.

4-12 months: 2-3 meals per day.

After 12 months: transition to high-quality adult food.

Litter Box & Sleep

Your kitten is already litter trained. Place the litter box in a quiet area and keep it clean, as cats prefer a clean environment.

Kittens sleep a lot, often up to 16-18 hours per day. Provide a warm and safe sleeping place where your kitten can rest undisturbed.

Play and Interaction

Playtime is essential for a kitten's development. Interactive toys help kittens build coordination, confidence, and a strong bond with their owners.

Daily play sessions also help prevent boredom and destructive behavior.

Veterinary Care

Your kitten has received appropriate veterinary care before going to its new home. We recommend establishing a relationship with a veterinarian soon after adoption for regular health checks and vaccinations.

Preparing for Arrival

Before your kitten arrives, prepare food and water bowls, high-quality kitten food, a litter box and litter, a bed or blanket, scratching posts, and a few safe toys.

Secure electrical cords, remove small objects, keep toxic plants out of reach, and make sure windows and balconies are secure.

Nutrition Guidelines

We recommend foods with high-quality animal protein, minimal carbohydrates, clean ingredients, and no unnecessary fillers or artificial additives.

If high-quality commercial food is not available, a carefully prepared homemade diet may be considered only with proper taurine and vitamin or mineral supplementation.
